Peperomia Jade

Your peperomia will do best in a well lit space, out of direct sunlight. They love light, but direct sunlight can cause their leaves to burn. If you notice your peperomia appears to be stretching or leaning in a direction, it may be trying to reach a more bright spot in the room. If this happens, you can prune it back to its original shape and move the plant to a different spot with more natural light.

Overwatering if the main issue people will have with their peperomia. These plants like their soil to dry out a little bit between watering. If you’re not sure if the soil is dry, poke your finger a couple of cm’s into the top of the soil and see if it’s moist. If so, hold off watering. If the under soil is dry, you can go ahead and water it. As with all plants, drainage is important, so make sure when you do water your plant, the water has somewhere to go so it doesn’t sit at the bottom of the soil and cause root rot or fungal problems.

Many species of peperomia have succulent like qualities. This means that have the ability to withstand water loss, which is why you should take care not to overwater this plant. Gently wipe down the plants leaves to keep them free from dust. Use scissors or snips to remove any damaged or dying leaves so that the plant can redirect its resources to the healthy parts of the plant.
