Frequently Asked Questions
Here’s a few little things we get asked fairly often. If you have a question that we haven’t answered, get in touch with our team and we’d be happy to help.
General Questions
How does it work?
We head to the markets each day, pick out the best flowers there and make them into our available flower arrangements. We deliver our blooms all over Brisbane every week day.
How are you different from other florists?
We’ve found a more sustainable way to deliver affordable flowers, with minimal waste. We started by operating a little differently to the big guys, focusing on a unique style of flowers which changed daily. As the years go on, our range of flowers has increased. We focus on minimising the amount of flowers that end up as wastage by only buying what we need each day. Our flowers go straight from our local grower’s market to your door. Whatever we don’t sell online, we sell in our retail store in Norman Park.
Can I pick up from your shop?
You sure can, as long as it’s within our store opening hours. You can place a pick up order online. We have a selection of other fresh flowers available in store as well. You’ll find us at Shop 2-5, 50 Hume street, Norman Park.
Where is your shop and is there parking?
You can find us at Shop 2-5, 50 Hume street Norman Park. All our of online orders are prepared and dispatched from this location. There are customer car parks on the street out the the front of our shop or plenty of side street parking available. Don’t be tempted to go down the driveway as there is no parking down there and there’s a good chance you’ll have trouble getting your car out!

Pricing
How much is delivery?
Our delivery fees are added at the checkout. For a full list of our delivery suburbs and pricing, see the Where we Deliver page.
Flowers
How big will my bunch of flowers be?
Our arrangements vary in size and style from day to day, but the value always remains the same. Check out our Size Guide for more information on our sizing guidelines. It’s no secret that prices are going up everywhere and it included the cost of flowers. We’ve seen an average of a 30% increase to wholesale cost of flowers. If you’ve been purchasing from us for a while now you might notice we’ve had to make some changes to our products in order to meet the market and keep up with the ever increasing cost of things.
Can I choose my flowers?
Our daily seasonal flowers are selected by our florists. If you do want something made in certain colour or style, you can choose from some of the other options available on our website.
Delivery
When is your cut off time for same day delivery?
12pm weekdays or until sold out, which ever comes first. We can sell out of flowers early some days so it’s best to get your order in as soon as possible.
Can I order in advance?
You sure can! Select the advanced date from the calendar when placing your order.
Do you deliver to my area?
We deliver to hundreds of Brisbane suburbs. Check our the Where We Deliver page for a full interactive list of suburbs that we deliver too.
My area isn't on the list, can you go there?
If the suburb you would like us to deliver to isn’t on the list please contact our customer service team to see if we can organise it for you. It’s best to check before placing your order to avoid any disappointment.
What time will my flowers arrive?
We’re busy little bees in the mornings and spend hours preparing your flowers. They leave the studio in Norman Park just after lunch time and our couriers spend the afternoons running them around Brisbane. We’re unable to tell you an exact time they will be delivered but we aim to complete all of our deliveries by 5pm.
We’re unable to guarantee delivery time frames as our couriers follow the most efficient route of travel. If you need your flowers to arrive by a certain time, please contact the office prior to 12pm for an on demand delivery quote.
You will receive an email once your order as been dispatched, another once our driver is on their way to your delivery and a final email once your order has been delivered. Please ensure the email provided when you place your order is correct otherwise these updates won’t make it to you.
What if the recipient leaves work early?
If the recipient leaves work before our courier arrives, their flowers or delivery will be left at their work place. Imagine how happy they’ll be to start the next day with a lovely gift waiting for them!
Every bouquet we send out is delivered with a source of water so they’ll be able to have a drink over night. If this happens on a Friday, the same terms and conditions do apply. If the recipient usually leaves work early it may be a safer option to deliver them to their home address. Most days we are not able to re-direct flowers once they have left the store.
What if they're not home at the time of delivery?
If the receiver isn’t home, we’ll leave them at the front door or somewhere safe on the property. If you’d like us to leave them somewhere else, just let us know when you place your order. If their property has security gates and codes or they live in a big apartment building, remember to let us know how we can access the property.
If we can’t get in and find a safe place to leave the delivery, our courier will bring it back to the store and we’ll contact you to organise a redelivery. Please remember that it is the sender’s responsibility to make sure that the address you have provided is correct and that the property we’re delivering flowers to is accessible for our drivers.
We will usually only try and call the receiver or sender if we feel there is a problem with the delivery. If we deliver your flowers when the receiver is not home and you have provided the wrong address, we are not able to try and retrieve your order and you will need to place a new order.
What if my flowers are returned to the store after a failed delivery?
This doesn’t happen too often but there is the odd little guy that makes his way back us. This is why it’s super important to check your order before sending it off to us. Wrong addresses, missing information on orders, patients being discharged early and inaccessible buildings are the main reasons that we see our flowers come back.
We offer one free re-delivery for any second delivery attempts, as long as it's within our delivery area. Any subsequent attempts will incur fees. If we need to deliver a new bunch of flowers, you will need to place a new order. Re-delivery fees start at $20 and vary depending on the delivery address and circumstances. Some suburbs may incur extra re-delivery fees which will be calculated and confirmed before re-booking your delivery.
Do you deliver on the weekend?
Our flower and plant deliveries take place Monday to Friday. You can come and see us in store at Norman Park on Saturdays.
How will I know if my order has been delivered?
You should receive an email including the proof of delivery once your flowers have been delivered. Look out for any notes and photographs from our driver in the attachment within the email.
There's a problem with my order, what do I do?
Give us a call or send us an email. We are always happy to help.
Sometimes things change, we understand that. It can be a little tricky to make changes to a same day order once it has left the studio. However, if the flowers are still here, we’ll do our best to make any changes for you.
You can reach us at hi@poppyrose.com.au. You can also call us on 07 3395 4273.
Payment
What payment options do you have?

Flower Care
How do I keep my flowers looking fresh?
There are a few things you can do to keep your flowers happier for longer. check our our Flower Care page for some handy tips for keeping your flowers fresher for longer. Our flowers go straight from the markets to you, so they should look great for at least 2-3 days after you receive them. If for any reason looking at your flowers makes you sad, please email us at hi@poppyrose.com.au.
Feedback
What if I'm not happy with my flowers?
We will always try our best to rectify any quality issues if it is within a couple of days of your delivery being received. Please email a photo of your flowers to our Customer Service team. We are not able to provide any refunds or re-deliveries for any issue relating to the size of your bunch of flowers.
Due to the nature of our product, the size of flowers will vary from bunch to bunch. The pictures on our website and social media can be used as a general guide. The value of flowers in each size is consistent but the sizes may vary from day to day. Sizes of arrangements vary depending on the types of flowers or foliage used. The choice of flowers used throughout our floral arrangements remains at the discretion of our florists and market buyers. These decisions are heavily based on season, quality and availability.
